What does Boxed Bills do?
Boxed Bills manages selected household services through one monthly arrangement. We organise and administer accounts with third-party gas, electricity, water and broadband suppliers, and pay their invoices on the household’s behalf. Boxed Bills is a utility-management agent, not the underlying utility supplier.
What services can we include?
A package may include gas and electricity, water and broadband. Available combinations and suppliers depend on the property and will be shown in the quote or order summary.
How is the package price worked out?
We calculate a household price using the property, contract dates, number of tenants and selected services. Our service costs are included in the quoted package price. The order summary shows the amount due before the household commits.
Are there setup fees or hidden costs?
We do not charge a separate setup fee or security deposit. The regular payment and included services are shown before sign-up. Separate charges can arise only where the agreement allows them, including failed-payment or missed-meter-reading administration charges, early termination costs, supplier cancellation charges, or costs caused by prohibited or commercial use.
How does the household join?
The lead tenant starts the household account and invites the other participating tenants. Each invited tenant uses their own join-household link to confirm their details and set up their share of the payment.
When will the services start?
We ask for enough notice to arrange services from the agreed package start date. Supplier transfers, broadband installations and engineer appointments can take longer than expected, the more notice the better!
Who arranges the utility accounts?
Acting with the authority supplied by the household, Boxed Bills communicates with the relevant suppliers and arranges or administers the selected services. Suppliers remain responsible for the utility services they provide.
How are monthly payments split?
Each tenant provides their own payment details through Stripe and pays the share allocated to them. Stripe processes the payment details; Boxed Bills receives payment status and transaction information and uses the money collected to pay suppliers.
When do payments begin?
Payments begin on the date and schedule shown in the household’s order summary and payment plan. A payment may be due from the tenancy or package start date even if a tenant moves into the property later.
Is the monthly price fixed?
The agreed regular payment is fixed for the stated contract term. This does not prevent separate charges that are expressly permitted by the agreement, such as failed-payment charges, missed-meter-reading charges, early termination costs or supplier cancellation charges.
What happens if somebody misses a payment?
The missed amount remains due. We will contact the relevant tenant and may retry collection. Any administration charge will be applied only as described in the Terms and Conditions. The household remains responsible for ensuring that the full household payment is made.
What happens if one tenant leaves?
Leaving the property does not automatically end the household agreement. Tell us as soon as possible. We can cancel the departing tenant’s payment instruction and, where a replacement tenant is accepted, send the replacement a new join-household link. The household remains responsible for the full payment until the replacement has completed the joining and payment process.
Why do you need meter readings?
What should we do if a service is not working?
Can we change the services in our package?
Contact us before making any change. Whether a service can be added or removed depends on the existing supplier contract, the stage of the household agreement and any costs charged by the supplier. We will explain any effect on the household before an agreed change is made.
What happens when the fixed term ends?
The Boxed Bills agreement ends at the end of its stated fixed term unless the household actively agrees to renew. We use final readings, supplier invoices and payment records to close the account and address any outstanding contractual amount or genuine account credit.
Can we cancel before the end date?
Early cancellation is subject to the Terms and Conditions. The household may have to pay the £100 household early-termination fee, any amount required to settle the package using actual meter usage and payments made to date, and any evidenced broadband or other supplier cancellation charge passed to Boxed Bills. We will provide a breakdown of the amount claimed.
Can we renew for another year?
Yes. Renewal is optional and requires active agreement. If Boxed Bills offers the household a £50 renewal credit for example , it will be applied against the first payment of the renewed term, subject to the renewal offer.
How can we contact Boxed Bills?
Email hello@boxedbills.co.uk or telephone +44 7466 674 984. Please include the property address or household reference so we can locate the account.
How do you handle personal information?
We use personal information to quote for, arrange and manage the household’s selected services. Information is shared with Stripe, utility suppliers and other service providers where needed and where there is a lawful basis. Boxed Bills does not carry out credit-reference searches. Full details are in the Boxed Bills Privacy Notice.
How do we make a complaint?
Email hello@boxedbills.co.uk and explain what has happened, the outcome you want and the household or property concerned. We will acknowledge the complaint and investigate it.
